OPENING NIGHT RECEPTION!!

We have a tradition at Concord Players. An hour before our first performance, we hold a reception for Opening Night Ticket holders to join us at 7PM for appetizers, desserts and beverages reflecting the themes of the play which begins at 8PM.

“Crossing Delancey” gives us a unique opportunity to present treasured recipes brought to the Lower East Side of New York City by the waves of immigrants who fled the oppression of their Eastern European homelands to find homes, jobs and to start businesses.

“Crossing Delancey” is a heart warming story of the bonding of generations between Izzy (who works in a prestigious uptown bookstore) and her Grandmother Bubbe (who lives on the Lower East Side and is the wise keeper of family traditions and memories).

The rich cultural and gastronomic history of the Lower East Side will be presented in the style of the NY delicatessens’ famous cured & smoked meats, fish, pickles, bagels, cheese, pastries,
and sweets.

These receptions have turned out to be great reunions for the both the actors and the audiences of the local theater communities. We hope you will join us.
